WHY SHE CHOOSES TO COVER

WHY SHE CHOOSES TO COVER

In life you come across many paths on your life’s chosen quest and thus you meet people, gain knowledge and get influence positively and negatively. No sweat, it’s all part of the growth you will encounter in order to overcome the uncertainties that lies ahead.

I believe that different strokes moves the boat, but the journey of the traveller is controlled by the tide. But who is the traveller? Why is he/she on a journey ? And how will The All- Powerful tide decide his/her fate?

I am no other person but the Traveller and I introduce myself simply to you as The Muslimah. Hi! Or better still Assalaamu Alaikum (peace be unto you). I am on a journey through life (duniyah) in preparation for the life of the here-after (Ahkirah) and My All- Powerful tide is non other than My Lord, The One and Only God worthy of worship, creator of the seven heavens and the seven earths, bestower of mercy upon all His Creations; the likes of the Jinn, Malaikah and Man as He did not create them for any other purpose than to worship Him with sincerity in worship and with the acknowledgement of the truth lies bounties of rewards fid duniyah wal ahkirah (both in this life and in the hereafter).

On My journey lies tests and hardships, trials and tribulations because the garden of flowing rivers is surrounded by hardships while the hollow of molten and burning skins is surrounded by the illusionary goodness of this world, but alas! I have been promised relief because “With every hardship comes ease” (Q .94 Vs. 5) and because “whoever Allah swt wishes good for He will surely test him”. (saheeh Bukhaari wa’ Muslim)
Thus in order to survive on this journey of mine, I strive to acquire the gears and gadgets of protection and navigation like Iman (faith), Ikhlas (sincere devotion), Tawakkul (reliance), Taqwa (piety), Sabr (Patience), Salah (performing prayers), Sawm (fasting), Sadaqqah (charity), Zakat (giving charity to the poor and needy), Hajj (pilgrimage) and dutifulness and kindness to the likes of my mother, father, siblings, husband, relatives, neighbours as well as the stranger(s) I come across along the way.
But truthfully, why do I chose to cover? First and Foremost I chose to because it is a religious obligation and a sign of Inqiyad (submission) that earns me the mercy of my Lord when done sincerely for His sake as Allah (swt) stated in Surah An- Nur Vs. 31:

“And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands’ fathers, their sons, their husbands’ sons, their brothers, their brothers’ sons, their sisters’ sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.”

And in Surah Al-Ahzab Vs. 59:

“O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.”

Also I choose to because it shields me from being identified as a vessel of physical features alone. I also choose to in order to perform my Ibadah (worship) comfortably, consciously and at their prescribed time E.g Salah (The Daily Prayers) and sincerely I choose to because of my Mahabba (love) for it and for the absolute joy I derive in doing so. Therefore, I cover because it is an important aspect of being my true self  i.e A Muslimah.

Twenty-Four months later

“وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ جَنَّتَانِ

But for he who has feared the position of his Lord are two gardens

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
Hameedah stirs awake to Ahmad’s recitation of suratul Rahman, which happens to be one of the surah she often recites and loves listening too. Turning her head to take a better look at her surroundings “Where am I?”
Standing up to rush to the bedside “Ahhhh! Alhamdullilah you are awake…finally. May Allah swt continue to keep you safe Mu’habeebi.” Says Ahmad as he embraces her.
“Ahmad…. What’s going on? What am I doing here?” She asks clearly confused.
“You don’t remember anything from the last 24hrs?” He asks bewildered.
“Hmmm….not really….” Trying to recall the incidents that took place the day before. Suddenly remembering. “Subhanallah” she exclaimed “I remember having series of painful tugs around my abdomen and then you rushing me to the hospital and…” Moving her hands to her stomach which was now flat with no evidence of the bulge she had carried for the last 8 months. Looking sadly at Ahmad for the confirmation of her worse fear. Sensing her thoughts he placed his hand on hers on her stomach and placed her head on his shoulder.

“Haven’t I always told you that the promise of our Lord is ever-true?” She raises her head in confusion trying so hard to hold on to the tears trying so hard to drop. Looking her straight in the eyes, and smiling cheekily he says “Your Lord who is indeed Merciful and Compassionate has rewarded your patience with a slave of The Merciful and a slave of The Compassionate”
More confused than ever “What ever do you mean by that?”
Standing up and gently pulling her with him” why tell you if I can just show you” he smiled. They walk together towards the other end of the room, stopping in front of two cribs containing a baby each. Hameedah looks from the sleeping forms to her husband and then back to the sleeping forms. Ahmad wraps his arm around her, clearly enjoying the scene “Umm’ AbdulRahman wa’ AbdulRaheem won’t you bid salaam to your bundles of joy coated in mercy and compassion by the will of your Lord?” Hameedah tried as hard as she could but couldn’t control the tears any longer, but this time they turned out to be tears of joy in appreciation for the blessings of her Lord. Suddenly she moves out of Ahmad’s Embrace and bows down in the prostration of thankfulness with her heart filled with more joy than she ever dreamed.

“Thus I conclude with this, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being too careful. If you should notice any changes in your body, please get tested to confirm if it is something to be bothered about or not. Please don’t just assume.” Picking up her papers from the stand ” I appreciate your apt attention all through, and I hope and pray I have been able to shed light on certain issues that are of concern to you. Thank you and enjoy the rest of the program.”
She smiles, then walks off the stage accompanied by rounds of applauds.
“Wow!!!!….nicely done Dr. K….well…I feel she deserves another round of applauds.”
The audience claps excitedly in response.
“Thank you….we are indeed grateful to have you here. She smiles in the Doctor’s direction.” I would also like to inform you that next on our list is the open mic session” murmurings are heard from the audience “I am sure you are all as excited as I am about this segment.” The M.C laughs. “So without wasting much of our time, I would like to introduce our first speaker, Mrs Hameedah Yuusuf!!!”
The audience claps heartily, honouring Hameedah as she stands up from where she is seated beside Umm’ Khalid and walks up to the stage.
“Good Afternoon to you all”…she says nervously. Looking up from her hands and finding Umm’ Khalid and Umm’ Kifayah In full support and making signs of support to boost her confidence, she pulls herself up her full height, looks up and silently makes a dua’a.
“Peace be unto you all, I for one believe there is a reason why I am standing in front of you today regardless of my desire not to be, thus I plead with you to forgive my shortcomings and I pray you are able to gain something in exchange for your attention and time.”
The audience murmurs in response.
“O Mankind, fear your Lord who created you from one soul and created from it it’s mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you an observer.” Smiling “I am sure for the married women amongst us finding the right man, getting married thereafter giving birth to a couple or bunch of beautiful children along the line was the ultimate dream for most when we were spinsters,” sighing loudly “But while some of us are able to live in the reality of our dreams some of us aren’t.” The audience begins to murmur their opinions “But regardless, we all are living a dream whether it’s the one we dreamed of or the ones we would love to wake up from.” The audience’s response is heightened.
“But what if I tell you that regardless of what you or anyone thinks, you are actually living in your predestined reality and thus you have to accept it and make the best of it.” The audience becomes louder and the M.C gets up to signify decorum in the hall thereafter the hall becomes quiet.
“Alhamdullilah, now that I have your undivided attention I would like to properly introduce myself. I am Hameedah Yuusuf a chartered accountant working at a Non-Interest Bank here in this city, I have been married to my husband for 5 years, 8months and 10 days and I am yet to conceive, miscarry or confirmed to be infitile.”The audience begins to murmur once again.
“I for one believe that there is a high possibility for me to still have the part of my dream that involves giving birth and having children a reality, but I have also accepted the fact that there is a high possibility that it I might not and that whatever remains or becomes my reality till I leave this world is best for me and better than what I might want or think I need.” Sighing deeply “But before you think of me as one superwoman” she smiles “I would like to inform you that I also struggled emotionally to get to this point and I could’nt have achieved this state of mind without the Mercy of Allah who keeps guiding me back to having faith and holding on to a beautiful patience and the love and compassion of my support group which is made up of my husband, my best friend Umm’ Khalid” she smiles at her in the crowd “my parents, siblings, in-laws and considerate acquaintances.” Staring at the audience knowingly “But that’s my story. What about those women who face worse daily, suffering the blames from family and friends and the never ending poking and pulling under the all-noticing microscope of the womb-watchers” the audience burst out laughing” smiling in response ” But seriously, what about them?” looking sternly at the audience “Don’t they deserve a hopeful living, free of sadness and depression?” The audience mumurs in response. “I for one believe they deserve it and more infact we all do regardless of whether we have problems having children or we have too many according to the dictates of society or we just happen to be hanging in between, no one deserves unhappiness while going through one of life’s many tests.” Staring at the audience, “Having said my piece, I am imploring us to start the reformation by making compassionate support the foundation we build on.” Pausing lightly “Thank you all for listening, it’s been a pleasure sharing my views with you.”
“Glory is to You, O Allah, and praise is to You. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but You. I seek Your forgiveness and repent to You.”
“Do enjoy the rest of the program.” The audience responds with a standing ovation as Hameedah finds her way back to her seat. Umm’ Khalid hugs her warmly as she gets to her. “Ma Shaa Allah!!! I am sooo proud of you sweets.” She says
Hameedah starts to respond but the M.C’s statement halts her.
“Wow!!! That was indeed exceptional. Mrs. Yuusuf, thank you for being you! and I pray your hope blossoms into joy.” She smiles heartily at Hameedah. “Our beloved beautiful ladies in the house, I would like to inform you that we would be going on a short break after this announcement, thereafter we’ll finish up with the open mic session then conclude the program with the question and answer session. Thank you all for being here and stay wonderful the program we resume shortly.”
Hameddah finds herself surrounded by warm hugs, handshakes and compliments as she and Umm’ Khalid amongst other women walk towards the merchandise stands for patronage.

“Wow…Ma Shaa Allah!!!… Today’s khutbah was exceptionally inspiring.” Exclaimed Umm’ Khalid.
“Exactly!…Ya’ Habeebaty” Hameedah replies “Not only that but it was entertaining as well.” She said laughing
“Ahahahah… Please don’t even start before we become a scene to watch.” Catching her breath “The invited speaker by the mercy of Allah was able to capture my attention with his examples of relatable occurrences and situations.”
“Yes sis you are right!…it made his admonition more understandable.” Replies Hameedah as she tries to hold on tightly to Khalid who obviously wants to play around the Masjid. “And I am glad Usthad Fulaan made the suggestion for guest speakers for our Masjid’s Jumu’ah khutbah.”
“Na’am…indeed it’s a good way for us to get enlightened without stepping out of our neighborhood and even the young and old gets to enjoy the experience as well… Alhamdullilah! May Allah accept the deed from all involved and grant them goodness in this world and in the hereafter.”
“Aameen” responded Hameedah.
“Ummi” Khalid whines
Turning to look at him “What is it dear?”
“I want to go and play with Ahmad and Abdullah.”
“Not today dear, we have to leave soon, in Shaa Allah you will get to see them at your hifz class tomorrow” she says bending to rub his head.
“That reminds me…. What surah is our little sheik memorizing presently?”
“Suratul Rahman” replies Khalid joyfully
“Awwww…Ma Shaa Allah!… That’s one of my favourite surah from the Glorious Qur’an.” She beams at him.
“And it’s seems it is fast becoming a favourite of his’ as well” Umm’ Khalid smiles proudly at Khalid “the zeal at which he recites and revises the surah is just something else. Alhamdullilah indeed! …it’s all by the mercy of Allah.”
“Yes sis…it sure is. I pray He continues to make it easy for him and us too.
“Aameen”.
Jumping excitedly “Ummi 2!!!”
“Yes dear” replies Hameedah
“Should I recite suratul Rahman for you?” He asked cheekily
“Sure thing! Ya’ sheik!… I would love to hear your beautiful recitation…please go on.”
“Audhubillahi Minashaytaani Rajeem…”

“Assalaamu alaikum waramatullah wabarakatuhu” Umm’ Kifayah interrupts
“Walaikum salaam waramatullah wabarakatuhu” chorused Hameedah, Khalid and Umm’ Khalid. They exchanged hugs and handshakes, thereafter Umm’ Kifayah tickles both Khalid and Sumayyah in turns.
Adjusting Sumayyah on her back”Dear big sis how have you been? It’s been a while we saw you last.”
“Yes ooo, that’s true…did you travel out of the country?” Enquires Hameedah.
Shaking her Head for Emphasis “Travel kee! No sweethearts, I have pretty much been around… I have just been busy with an upcoming program an NGO I belong to is having next month. In fact, this is a circular for the program” she says handing one to each of them.
“Wow…Ma Shaa Allah!!!… An awareness program on infertility…hmmm…This should be interesting.”
“Yes bi’dhnillah Ta’aala, we pray it is that and more. Infact issues such late childbearing, miscarriages, PCOC, PID, Ovarian Cyst and many more would be discussed that day In Shaa Allah.”
“Sincerely I can’t wait! I am always a craze for new knowledge. In Shaa Allah I will be there…correction we will both be there. Umm’ Khalid says touching Hameedah lightly “Won’t we sis?”
“Hmmm” diverted from her thoughts “It’s really nice of you and your group to do this, really it is but I think I will pass” lowering her gaze to hide the tears the discussion was prompting.
“Hmmm …Big Sis… Don’t worry she is just overwhelmed that’s all…In Shaa Allah we will be there. I will try my best to convince her.
“Please do, because there is a segment I had suggested Hameedah for…”
“What!!!” Shocked at Umm’ Kifayah
“Be calm sweetheart” she says as she rubs her shoulder “You know I wouldn’t do anything to cause you harm…at least intentionally.” She smiled. ” Actually there would be an open mike session, which basically gives people who have something to share concerning the issues discussed or related issues to speak out and be heard.”
Cuts in…”Sooo….why did you suggest me Sis?” She says confused.
“Why wouldn’t I?…you are a source of inspiration whether you admit it or not.”
“Me”?… She asks clearly more confused than before.
“Yes You” raising Hameedah’s head up so she can read the pride in her eyes. ” I am yet to come across any one as strong as you are….my dear the faith and trust you have patiently held onto is worth admiring. I remember one occasion when someone had made an ill comment in regards to you not having a child and how you had confidently responded respectfully that everything Allah (swt) has decreed is indeed good and that your situation might be best for you even if you or those around you don’t like it. You went further explaining with care the role of Qadr (predestination) in the lives of Man and how we only know about that which we have been given knowledge of and nothing more.”
“Oooo…I remember that incident…. it was 6 months ago right?” says Umm’ Khalid….and Alhamdullilah the Sis later apologized…didn’t she Hameedah? She asked
“Yes dear…Alhamdullilalh…she did.”
“Yea I know….I was there remember.” She said laughing lightly. But how you handled the whole situation that day was beautiful and since then you had earned my respect.”
“Hmmm….May Allah swt make me better than what you think of me and forgive me my short comings…Aameen. Anyways all that is now water under the bridge.”
“Yes dear…truly said.” She smiles “Then I hope you would do us the honour then, because I for one believe we need more people to believe and have faith like you do …because the alarming rate at which women are getting depressed by these issues is now extremely high.”
“It is the sad reality we presently live in…” “Hmmm” being thoughtful “Ok I will think about your proposition, perform my isthikhara and get back to you in Shaa Allah.”
Excitedly “Ma Shaa Allah!!!… That is utterly nice of you. Jazaakumllahu khayran sweets.”
Feeling amused ” Yea…right….” Teasingly ” I have not given my word oooo” she smiled “Because I know you, you won’t stop until you get what you want.”
“In Shaa Allah… Everything will work out for the best.” I am sorry to be a party pooper but I have to go so I can feed Lil’ miss sunshine before she becomes dramatic” Umm’ Khalid says smiling.
“No problem, same here…. My grand daughter is coming for the weekend I have to visit the mall for the lil’ Madam.”
“And I also have to drop by my mother- In-law’s place. So… I guess I will see you both at the halqa on Sunday?
“Na’am In shaa Allah”… Says Umm’ Khalid as she takes hold of Khalid’s hand ” Assalaamu alaikum waramatullah wabarakatuhu… Have a lovely weekend bi’dhnillah”.
“Walaikum salaam waramatullah wabarakatuhu” Hameedah and Umm’ Khifayah chorused.
She hugs them both in turn thereafter she strolls out of the masjid to her house which was 3 houses away from the masjid.
“So till Sunday dear…In Shaa Allah”.
“Yes Big Sis, In Shaa Allah till Sunday. Assalaamu alaikum waramatullah wabarakatuhu”
“Walaikum salaam waramatullah wabarakatuhu”
They both shake hands then turn to walk in the direction that would lead to where their cars were parked.

THE TEST; Blooming Hope

              ***Blooming hope***

         ~Expect good from Allah~

             •Garden of the pious•
Hameedah knocks on the door of her friend’s home Umm’ Khalid who had just been birthed of a beautiful baby girl called sumayyah. Today happens to be the aqeeqoh ( naming ceremony of the child) and the family of Umm’ Khalid decided to celebrate the birth of their daughter intimately amongst close friends and families but also including the poor around them by giving out food and drinks in charity to the homeless and poor. Hameedah has always had a soft spot for Umm’ Khalid from the time they had met years back in the University. Infact she can be said to be one of Hameedah’s aid from Allah on the path of the Deen. Her selfless attitude towards others regardless of their religion or background as well as her easy going lifestyle had attracted Hameedah to her and with time and since then their love for one another and sisterhood had waxed stronger than she could ever had imagined.
“Who’s there?” Responded a male voice from the other side.
“It is I, Hameedah. I am here to see Umm’ Khalid”.
The door opens and the owner of the male voice steps aside so she can enter ” Assalaamu Alaikum waramatullah wabarakatuhu Sister Hameedah, your friend is in the other room”.
Entering “walaikum salaam waramatullah wabarakatuhu Aboo’ Khalid, congratulations Sir, Allahuma Baarik.”
“Aameen, Jazaakumllahu khayran”
“Aameen wa antum faa jazaakumllahu khayran” she replies and walks towards the other room.

“Assalaamu alaikum Ya’ Umm’ Khalid” says hameedah as she knocks lightly on the other.
“Walaikum salaam waramatullah wabarakatuhu ya’ Umm’ No respect” says a voice from the other side. This comment is followed by laughter from the people present in the room.
Hameedah laughs as well ” I am sure that comment must have been made by one of the twins” replied Hameedah.
“Please come in my dear, don’t mind these trouble makers” responds Umm’ Khalid.
Hameedah enters the room and goes straight to the twins standing in front of them pretending to be angry.

“Who amongst you insulted me?” She asks as she points her finger at one then the other.
“Ahan!!! Insult kee? We only gave you a kunya” replies one of the twins. This provokes more laughter in the room.
“Moverover, don’t you realize that you actually disrespected the baby by calling her mother Umm’ Khalid.” Says the other twin.
“Oooohhh I see, OK ooo madam know-all and Madam I know- too-much, what should I have called the new mother ooo” she asks while holding her laughter in check.
“Umm’ Khalid Wa Sumayyah of course” they said emphasizing their statements with the movements of their heads and hands. This display from the twins provokes more laughter and even Hameedah could not stop herself from joining in.
“Ahhhhhh, that’s enough now you two” says Umm’ Khalid with laughter still dancing in her eyes ” i wonder when you will stop harassing my beloved Hameedah so.”
Looking at eachother, then turning back to Umm’ Khalid and Hameedah who had taken a seat close to her friend. ” Harassing her!!!” Laughing lightly ” we are only preparing her for her own bundles of sweetness” they said smiling.
This comment provokes laughter again, but Hameedah could only smile sadly. Umm’ Khalid noticing her friend’s reaction quickly speaks up to revive her good mood.
“And Allah willing they would be like Hassan and Hussein (rd) and not take after you two.” She teased.
“As if you don’t love us just the way we are” they teased back.
“Yea right!!! In your dreams. She stated smiling.
“Anyways that’s enough theatrics from you two for today, let my friend say hello to our lil’ miss sunshine.” She stands up and walks over to where Sumayyah was laid to sleep, picking her up gently in order not to wake her, she carries her over to Hameedah was seated and hands her over to her. Sumayyah stirs has her small frame is cradled by Hameedah’s arms, she cutters the lashes of one eye, then the other staring intensely into the eyes of the woman who held her. As Hameedah lightly caressed her checks Sumayyah smiles contently and Hameedah could not stop the tears that flowed from her eyes.
” Ma Shaa Allah Tabaraqalla” she says wiping her face “May Allah bless you with His gift to you, and may you give thanks, may she reach the maturity of years, and may you be granted her righteousness.”
“Aameen” chorused everyone in the room.
“May Allah bless you, and shower His blessings upon you, and may Allah reward you well and bestow upon you its like and reward you abundantly”.
“Aameen bi’dhnillah Ta’aala” responded Hameedah.
“In Shaa Allah, soonest we will come and eat Aqeeqoh food” said the twins teasingly.
” Unrepentant Foodies” retorted Hameedah.
“Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar…”
The sound of the Adhan is heard and this stops the twins from responding to Hameedah’s tease.
They all repeated after the Mu’addhin as it is stated that the prophet (saw) said when ever you hear the call of the Adhan then say has the Mu’addhin is saying.
Upon the completion of the Adhan Umm’ Khalid initiated the supplication to be made at the end of the Adhan.
“O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and established prayer. Grant Muhammad(saw) the intercession and favor, and raise him to the honored station You have promised him, verily You do not neglect promises.” The others follow suit in making the supplication and also supplicating individually for their heart desires. Thereafter they stood up to prepare for salatul – dhur (afternoon prayer).

“Assalaamu Alaikum waramatullah wabarakatuhu” turning to the left “Assalaamu Alaikum waramatullah wabarakatuhu’ raising her hands in supplication “O Allah you are indeed majestic in your doings and my heart is at rest that the goodness you have decreed for me after this test will surely come at it’s appropriate time because one of the sayings of the noble messenger (saw) is that “whoever Allah (swt) wishes good for He will surely test him”*. Thus I plead with you my Lord in your magnanimousity because you are Al- Jawad (The Magnanimous) to please strengthen me with patience and perseverance while I go through this test of mine Aameen.”
Ahmad who had been watching her from the doorway moves closer to her, he wipes away the tears from her checks and holds her close.
“May Allah (swt) who is Al -Ghaffur Raheem (The oft- forgiving, The Merciful) forgive us our sins and grant us the goodness of this world and the hereafter”.
“Aameen” replies Hameedah sobbing quietly as Ahmad hugs her tight.
“Ya’ Hubb, that’s enough, everything will turn out fine bi’dhnillah ta’aala remember the promise of our Lord is ever- true.”
He raises her head up and kisses her forehead “Allah (swt) always reward the patient” Moving out of his embrace “Habeebi I know…but… it’s been 5 years since we completed half of eachother’s deen and we have no offspring to call ours.” Thrusting her hands out in fustration

“Sometimes it’s just overwhelming” she sighs “I can’t just stop the tears”.
“I understand what you mean my love, but remember that everything happens for a reason…” Cuts him…
“And the pen has been lifted and the pages have dried…” She completes one of his favourite admonition.
“Exactly that’s my scholarstic scholar!” he says as he tickles her.
Hameedah laughs and lightly punches Ahmad in the stomach.
“Aw..aw..aww!!! You have punched me… and now I will dii…ii..eeee”…he echoes as he slumps on the floor pretending to be dead.
“Ahhhahahahahahahah”. Hameedah laughs heartily at his funny attempt to cheer her up.
Ahmad opens one eye then the other and starts laughing as well.
“Ahhhhhh…Alhamdullilah.” recovering from the fit of laughter “Jazaakumllahu Khayran ya’ hubb” she places her hand on Ahmad’s left check
“May Allah swt continue to put affection, mercy and tranquility amongst us”
“Aameen” replies Ahmad.
Hameedah stands up to fold the praying mat and change from her praying garment
“So hubb, what’s for dinner? All that dying has made me hungry”
“yea right I can only imagine!” teasing him “As if you are not always hungry.” She replies
“Why wouldn’t I be hungry? When Allah (swt) has granted me a great cook as a wife.” Tapping her lightly on the shoulder “Now woman go into that kitchen and get me my food before I become an angry monster”
“No” she says turning her back to him
“Very well then!…You asked for it. Arghhhhhhhh— give me food! Give me food!! Give me food!!!” He chants
“Ok…ok…OK!!!…that’s enough! you hungry monster.” He stops and smiles as she leaves the room laughing to go set the table for dinner.
Staying behind, Ahmad supplicates to Allah (swt) ” Ya’ Rabb please forgive us our sins those known and unknown to us and grant us dutiful and compassionate children who will be the coolness of our eyes. Aameen”
“Hey woman what is taking so long?” He whines “I am about to starve to death” he says as he walks out of the room to join her in kitchen.

Love is finding Islam

Love is Happiness

Love is having Hope

Love is waking up for fajr on time with praying tahajjud on your scale of deeds

Love is fasting for the reward it brings even when you miss sahuur or you are unable to take enough before the adhan is called.

Thus grateful is the feeling that love is being able to witness the blessed month of Ramadan by the  mercy of Ar-Rahman.
